PSY 249 Psychology of Aging


This course covers the particular needs and behaviors of the maturing adult. Emphasis is placed on psychosocial processes; biological and intellectual aspects of aging; adjustments to retirement, dying, bereavement; and the stereotypes and misconceptions concerning the elderly. Upon completion, students should be able to show an understanding of the psychological factors related to the aging process. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and the Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a pre-major and/or elective course requirement.
