2013-2014 Catalog

Computer Engineering Technology A.A.S.

A40160

The Computer Engineering Technology curriculum prepares the students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills for installing, servicing, and maintaining computers, peripherals, networks, and microprocessor and computer controlled equipment. Includes instruction in mathematics, computer electronics and programming, prototype development and testing, systems installatikon and testing, solid state and microminiature circuitry, peripheral equipment, and report preparation. Graduates should qualify for employment opportunities in maintenance, programming, and other areas requiring knowledge of electromic and computer systems. Graduates may also qualify for certification in electronics, computer, or networks. Students should consult their advisor for information about course scheduling.

Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:

  • Use basic test equipment and measuring instruments, including oscilliscopes
  • Assess and retrieve information through print and electronic media, evaluating the accuracy and authenticity of that information (GE III.4)
