The Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy.

Coursework includes business concepts such as accounting, business law, economics, management, and marketing. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, communication, team building, and decision making.

Through these skills, students will have a sound business education base for lifelong learning. Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in government agencies, financial institutions, and large to small business or industry. Students should consult their advisor for information about course scheduling.

Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:

  • Understand and apply the planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling functions of management
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts as a basis for understanding our economy
  • Use written or oral discussion to discover and to articulate ideas (GE I.1)
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply principles of financial management
  • Develop and apply organizational strategies to decision making
  • Display a working knowledge of computing concepts, components and basic office applications(GE III. 5)
  • Effectively use microcomputers and software applications
