This course introduces the basic elements of counseling and specific techniques applicable to the criminal justice setting. Topics include observation, listening, recording, interviewing , and problem exploration necessary to form effective helping relationships. Upon completion, students should be able to discuss and demonstrate the basic techniques of counseling.
