PCW 210 Chair Design & Construction

This course covers the design and construction of various seating functions and the associated woodworking technology for chair-making. Topics include design of chair prototypes, testing of structures, advanced woodbending, carving, jigs and fixtures, and coloring methods of finishing. Upon completion, students should be able to design, test, and make a chair and demonstrate various advanced specialty woodworking techniques. This course may be taught in two incremental units: PCW 210AB (1-9-4) and PCW 210BB (1-6-3).
