BIO 168 Anatomy and Physiology I

This course provides a comprehensive study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Topics include body organization, homeostasis, cytology, histology, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems and special senses. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of principles of anatomy and physiology and their interrelationships. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and the Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a pre-major and/ or elective course requirement.

Prerequisite

DRE 097 and MAT 070 or DMA 010 and DMA 020 and DMA 030 and DMA 040 and DMA 050 or appropriate placement scores- the completion of high school preparatory biology and chemistry or BIO 111 and CHM 130 or higher is recommended (Amended 10/8/18 and effective Spring 2019: No DRE prerequisite; BSP 4003 Tier 2 takes the place of all MAT and DMA prerequisites.)
