Counseling Services and Career Center

WPCC offers free confidential resources and related services for its students through the Career, Counseling & Accessibility Center. These services are offered on an as-needed basis for full or part-time students dealing with issues that affect them as individuals or which may affect their academic progress. If a student needs long-term treatment to address serious mental illness or substance related disorders, they will be referred to community-based services. If students are determined to need highly specialized or long-term services after an initial assessment, they will be referred to off-campus resources immediately. Additionally, staff in the Career, Counseling & Accessibility Center can assist students experiencing financial difficulties by providing information about community support services that can offer assistance with utility payments, food, and housing.

Career Counseling and exploration are also available for students who are undecided or unsure about their career plans. Career assessment and counseling are available on an individual basis by appointment. The office offers students and alumni assistance with resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation. The Career, Counseling & Accessibility Center, located in Hildebrand Hall, room 147, has a variety of printed, audio-visual, and computer-aided resources to assist students in their exploration.
