Academic Advising
Advising Mission Statement: Western Piedmont Community College academic advising engages, challenges, and supports a diverse student population to assist students in achieving their educational, career, and personal goals.
To achieve this mission, the College provides each student with a dedicated support team that includes a success coach, an academic advisor, and/ or faculty advisor who teaches within the student’s program of study. The team works together to help students with the following and more:
- Course selection
- Program of study requirements
- Plans for completing academic goals
- Referrals to valuable college or community resources
Additionally, academic advisors and success coaches regularly communicate with students regarding their progress toward their educational goals.
