NEXT NC Scholarship
The North Carolina General Assembly consolidated the North Carolina Community College Grant, and the North Carolina Education Lottery Scholarship into a single need-based financial aid program that allows students and families to learn about options and eligibility earlier in the process.
To be considered for this scholarship, a student must be a North Carolina resident, be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours per semester) and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Consideration for funding is automatic once the FAFSA is filed. The FAFSA filing priority date is June 1 and for the NEXT NC Scholarship is August 15. Applicants completing the FAFSA after these dates may be denied if insufficient funds are available.
