IPP 153 Intro Discourse Analysis

The course introduces students to the foundational principles of discourse analysis in both ASL and English, through classroom instruction and field experience. Emphasis is placed on identifying and understanding language features such as linguistic jargon, cultural context, and specific features of ASL/English discourse. Upon completion, students will be able to transcribe and analyze real-world communication across various genres, apply theoretical concepts to practice, and demonstrate a deeper awareness of language structures for effective interpretation in ASL/English.
